Poppy Tilda on a stroll

Hello,

I like to share with you a little Garden Sign I made with Sir Stampalot’s exclusive Poppy Tilda.

The sign is made from wood and it is quite heavy. The sign is painted white and I stamped with Stampin ups “wood grain” background stamp and Vintage photo over the entire sign. A little sponging on the edges and added into the outer ridge some brown Stickles to make the details pop a bit more.

I than stamped with Memento my beautiful new sentiment I got from Tammi as a gift for Christmas. Tilda was stamped onto Copic Express paper and colored in with Copic markers.I needed something to ground Tilda on, so I tried my luck with Magnolia’s new DooBeePops paper in green (Fern) and cut the paper out with Magnolia’s grass border die. Embellished with just a few additional supplies as ribbons, butterfly stickers and made a little flag with Magnolia’s flag die.
The ribbon was adhered with some really strong glue to the entire backside of the wood so it will hold the weight of the sign when hung.

Gruen, gruen, gruen sind alle meine Kleider…

Hello friends, sorry I usually don’t write my blog in German but with this one I just had to because the tin I made just reminds me always of this old German lullaby my mother used to sing to me when I was a child.

Claudia_Rosa_green tin_4

I kept the green tin from one of our Christmas chocolates from “Sanders”. First I thought I would keep the tin to use it on a project for this years Christmas but than St. Patrick's Day came to mind and I started to look for matching papers (I used Magnolia ink Mini “Green Love” and “Calla of Paris”). My mothers favorite color is green and am going to sent the tin to her around Mothers Day to Germany, I will add a handmade green scarf with a lime green Pandora charm.

Here are a few detail shots.
I used a lace around the tin that has a flower pattern and an other thin ribbon to look like the flowers are growing from grass. Hemp was added too and I tied a bow and topped off with a orange button. Several flowers were sandwiched with leaves and a die cut from a Magnolia flower die.

Claudia_Rosa_green tin_1

The rim of the tin is decorated with a string of pearl stickers, I did not have the exact width of ribbons and I like that the green of the tin still shows through. To make the tag I used Magnolia “So Lovely” die several round circle punches to cut my sentiment out and added little dots around it with some Liquid Pearls. Most of my embellishments have some Stickles on them.

Here is a close up shot of the coloring.

Additional supplies used:
Stamps: Magnolia tulip Tilda
Papers:(I used Magnolia ink Mini “Green Love” and “Calla of Paris”),  page from a old German book
Die: Memory Box
orange satin ribbon, silver charm, metal corner
Copic markers

Time to reflect and DIY project

Hi there today I would love to show you a little notebook. I stamped with heart Tilda and Magnolia’s “Love corner” with Vintage photo and colored the image in with Prismacolor pencils. It does look so simple but honestly this kind of technique takes me so long. (there is an awesome article in one of the older Magnolia Ink magazine written by the very talented Chris Dark!!) For me the process of coloring this image was a healing one. I just had found out that day (Valentines Day) that a family member of mine passed away. I had lots of time to reflect. Simple, but this little book means a lot to me.

Claudia_Rosa_Pencils_2
I added some Stickles around the edge of the book and added some lace and bakers twine to the spine. I kept one end of the twine longer to add a heart charm to it – it can be used as a book mark. Also used is a small red button and pearls.

Anyhow.. life must go on, Niklas needed the day after Valentines birthday card for his teacher and I totally forgot all about it. In the morning I quickly stamped the large Magnolia butterfly on some paper and had him color in with some pastels. He added some wind (black swirls Smile a cloud and his own smilie face). At first he did not even wanted to make the card but once he had one for his teacher after school he told me “SHE REALLY Liked my card” he was happy. I think this butterfly is really quite cute to have for kids crafts, the large areas make it easy for the little ones to color in.

since I was not able to blog last week I wanted to share the little project I made with my kids – we have to make each year about 50+ Valentines to be exact 58 this year. I have tons of broken Crayola crayons. This year I soaked all those broken pieces we collect each year in warm water, let the kids peel off all the wrappers, I took off the little pieces.

photo-2

added them all into a silicone tray – I have seen nice small ones (my hearts are quite big and needed lots of crayons) at Michaels and Target for just $1 and put them on low heat for about 10 minutes in the oven. They all melt nicely and came easily out of the form after I cooled them for about 10 minutes outside.

Here is a close up shot of the finished gifts– I let the kids added into each baggie some chocolate and a crayon heart and I tied with ribbon close. I stamped the sentiments and had the kids punch out the matting and had them write their names to the back of the tag . Next time I would maybe add a nice sentiment for the crayon… like “You color my world” or so … I just ran out of time with making almost 60 of these in time for Valentines day.

Happy Presidents Day

Hi there…
Thanks for visiting me today.

I will make it short, the kids are off from school this week and we are heading out.
I have had a little play with watercolors, it has been probably good 2 years since I watercolor last time a image.

For the beginning I wanted something little and also was looking to make a lightweight card to post. When the “God Bless America” Collection” came out in 2012 I was just getting ready for my trip to Germany and I did not get a chance to play with them, so when I realized on Saturday that Presidents Day is on Monday I pulled the stamps out.

Claudia_Rosa_Presidents Day_1
The background was made by randomly applying red and blue to Fabiano hot-pressed watercolor paper, folded in half and squished together – I let that dry, added the sentiment in Stazon black over that and covered the piece with Distress rock Candy paint. Once everything was dried I added my stitching with the sewing machine. The card shape was made with one of my new Nestabilitie shapes “Postage stamps”.

Everything else is straight forward. Water coloring Tilda she can be found in the “God Bless America” collection and the banner in with a water tank brush, and adding some Stickles to areas. I also used a piece of Tim Holtz film strip over the banner just to add a little more embellishment.

Today I want to show you a card I made a while ago. Love, love those pretty blue Magnolia papers. They are my favorites.

I used for this card a variety from different releases, there is blue kitchen cloth, forget me not wallpaper, rose romance with love

Claudia_Rosa_flowers for you_1

I stamped Tilda with flower from the last Valentines Collection with Memento tuxedo black ink and the  postmark stamps and the corner scroll from 2012 with Walnut stain onto Copic coloring card. Dies used are Magnolia DooHickeys tag and leave also Memory Box and Stampin up Word Window punch. Distressed with a tool and sponged all edges with Vintage photo Distress Ink. Some little pearl stickers and stickles was added to the flowers.

To decorate the inside I used a die from Sizzix – it is so beautiful – check it out – its called frame heart crown. it looks good when cut out from plain cardstock or if you have from glittered paper too.

Thank you

Be My Valentine

Hi there.. Thank you for your visit and also “Thank you” for those of you who left me a comment on my photos from yesterday. It was fun to read who else shares the same interests Smile. I wished I had a few ladies here I could meet up at a local café to knit and help each other with patterns Smile. I really, really would like to know how to knit socks. I guess I have to take class to learn how to make those.
