Magnolia Calendar Shutter #29 ~ Happy New Year

Welcome dear Magnolia friends…
I am happy to be able to participate with all of you in the annual Magnolia holiday celebration.

As every year, the team has made beautiful cards and projects that inspire all of us. Now as the year draws to a close, I would like to share with you a New Years card made with one of the cute images you can find in your Magnolia Winter kit; If you ordered it. If not you can still find it at any fine store – may I suggest Sir Stampalot, that carries Magnolia products. I will link and detail all supplies used at the bottom of this posting.

As you may already know, Magnolia is going to sent each day a gift to those out there who leave a comment on a Design Team Members blog. Today is my blog’s turn; so don’t forget to leave a comment below and I will draw a winner the next day. Please come back and check if you won.

Happy new year_3

Just a note… tomorrow (December 30) you want to check Kim’s beautiful blog – its her turn next.

With love always and have a wonderful New Year – I am already excited to see what cute Tilda images we can expect in 2014. Pauline has surprised us this past year with some really cute animal/pet images which I personally adore and how great are those new double sided papers??!!! Love ’em! I am sure there is more to come …

Sweet Holiday Wishes

Hi there,
back with a card using one of the stamps that came in the Magnolia Christmas stamp kit 2013. love
the mix of images which could be used all the way for Valentines.

Still was not feeling to get my photo tent all the lights out, so I am moving my cards around to see where I like the light. We do have now more windows in the rooms but its really odd to me what a difference real light makes compared to the photo tent. If I have the picture in my photo program to resize and adjust darkness it makes the photo always green, vs the raw photo taken in the tent came most of the time true to the real colors.

The image was water colored with distress markers. I just used the tin in the back to hold my card into place. The inside was not finished so the card was very front heavy :-)

Supplies:
Stamps: Snow Heart Tilda
Sentiment: Amuse Art Stamps
Dies: Spellbinder circle, Tim Holtz border snow flake, Magnolia tree/Firs, Tea Label tag set of 3
Paper: Magnolia blue Christmas, Water color paper whoohooo back in stock!!!
Ink: Stazon, Distress vintage photo
Other: felt snowflake, paper distresser, paper doily, snow tex

A Little Gift

Hello there...
this is my second holder and I thought I had taken photos how the inside looks but I think I never did.
Essentially imagine a 12x12 paper and you score the paper so you have 9 sections scored. You would cut the 4 squares in the top /bottom corners out (this is just the visual) if you want to re-create this.. don't forget to add the height of your post-it note, so I added to my squares about 0.5. I used 2 12x12 of paper. If you create yourself a dummy first from old paper it's very easy to figure out.

These are the supplies I used:
Stamp: Winter Wonderland Collection "Show the Way Tilda"
Dies: Magnolia Doo Hickey Mistletoe, poinsettia
Memory Box snowflake die
Stickles: Star Dust, Diamond, Silver
Coloring: copics, white gel pen
Tools: Scor pal

A Day Before Christmas

or just before 2013 ends I am able to post something on my blogs again.
It has been so long since I was able to sit and craft after our move and than honestly I was feeling so unsecure about my coloring that it felt I had to start all over again. Seeing all the lovely cards from you guys delivered by Bloglovin was nice over the months but also it made me feel - "I cant color like this anymore or I cant do THIS"
Lots has happened after the move. I want to keep this short but I know some of you might be interested. After we purchased the house we ran into many problems with the house we did not foresee nor the house inspection caught. Not only did this set us back time wise but also as you can imagine was a expensive. The house we purchased as I told you earlier was owned by an old lady and she just gave up on it and they never updated or repaired anything on the house or property.

We knew we needed a new kitchen and as we got ready to tile the floor my husband got very sick and needed an emergency surgery. He is well now but of course after that he needed to get rest and was unable to lift anything . So all our "projects" were on hold.
Where are we jet :-) well... lets put it this way... I have still no kitchen in my house, after the cabinets were delivered about 60% of them arrived in such bad condition that we just simply could not accept them just to HAVE a kitchen in. As of now I have most of the cabinets sitting in the kitchen or in my family room. Its a MESS.  I will post some of the photos below the card photo if you are interested ... keep scrolling down otherwise I think I want to show you the card I made. I quickly took this photo in my living room. Not sure if I will get my tent up anytime soon - I kind of like the "look" of it and its so much faster. I colored this image together with Angie who helped me with her new Tim Holtz Distress Markers and water coloring. It was a nice day with her just crafting :-)

A Day Before Christmas Edwin
Paper: Watercolour

Thank you :-)

here are some photos taken yesterday of my kitchen.... we had to redo walls, fix a big hole in the floor, ripped a layer of tiles and laminat out in order to tile, removed one larger window so we can have the peninsula come out right underneath the window, open a wall to make the entry larger to the family room

I am quite happy how my cabinets turned out ... here in the USA the trend is right now to have all white cabinets, my husband hates it :-) so our compromise was to go with Maple cabinets in grey stained with an ebony brush finish. I am going to have a white Granite as counter top.

MIA

Hello ladies,
i am so sorry for not telling you what is happening here.

First "Thank you so much for all your comments and some of you even sent me a email asking if i am okay".

Well... if you have had a chance to read a few postings back, you may remember that i told you guys about our plans to sell our current house. It has been way busier and took way longer, than we had estimated to add a second full bathroom and finish our sun room. We literally finished the bathroom last Sunday. But rewind a bit back :-)

As we thought of selling our house, we also went to look at new homes. We ended up liking one house and it was sold, than we put an offer on an other home (foreclosure) and we lost the bid on it. After a few weeks the first house, we liked on the first place came back on the market (deal fell through) and after endless home inspections, negotiating with the sellers, more meetings we contractors, again negotiating with sellers we ended up purchasing the house. It is a nice house in a great neighborhood, but it does need a lot of work (what did hubby get me into AGAIN). The house belonged  to an elderly lady who was unable to keep up with it in anyway possible and after she passed away it even stood empty for 2 years. Which of course was not good for it. Once we take ownership of the home, we will have a company repair things we can't fix and the rest we tackle our self.
On July 1 we listed our house, still with the bathroom in progress but you could see where we were going with it and we got an offer well over asking price within 72 hours. yeah!!! We still had showings of the house - which is - as some of you know... quite busy too especially since both boys are home from school. I felt i clean up one room of all the hot wheels and i turn around and there are sitting like 10 cars again on the floor. They must have a life of their own.

Anyways.. long story short. I am able to take a few days break this week, Monday was our last important appointment and this week on Sunday we are going to start packing our stuff up. We close on the 31. this month on the new house and on ours on the 15. of August. Speaking of the 2 week window to fix the new house at least so its save to move in.

There will be still a lot of time go by until i am even able to unpack my craft stuff to a new space. I spoke with Magnolia and Sir Stampalot and both of them were wonderfully understanding and encouraging with me. I must say i was worried i would be let go because of this long break, but this is a once in a lifetime kind of thing for me and i am happy to be able to give my children a new home where both of them each have their own space and Janice and Magnolia both supported me.
Thank you so much for that!

I will be back in early September! In the meantime i will be reading your blogs on my feed before i go to bed so i am not completely lost whats going on. It feels already like an eternity.

Well again.. Thanks for reading my story :-)
hope you all do very well and i wish you a wonderful summer. See you all very soon.

With Love
Claudia

Blue Baby Sophisticate

Hello ladies,
how are you today?

Its finally warming up here in Michigan and i am starting to count down the days we leave to go on a trip to Disney. Lots of things still to get.. i wonder each year where those goggles are i purchase each year for the boys :-) Cant wait to hang out by the pool a little bit and enjoy the sun. The kids are now in a age where i do not feel i constantly need to be with them in the water and have an eye on them like an eagle :-)

Speaking of kids...
One of our friends had a baby boy about a week and a half ago.. she had a really bad pregnancy... so happy for her sweet Andrew is health and she can hold him in her arms.

I have knitted her a little cardigan and purchases a pair of pants to go with it. I purchased on purpose not a newborn set because i remember how many things you get in this size and baby grows so fast, i was not even able to put those cute little clothes on my boys

The size you see is a size 6 month and up. Think it should work out fine for the fall too with a long sleeved shirt.
I used for this cardigan i used for Camilla's baby's sweater

Here are the supplies i used:

Stamp: Magnolia "Baby"
Sentiment: Papertrey ink
Papers: Maja Design
dies: Go Create, Spellbinders Oval
Charm: Handmade with love - Hobby House

Baby sweater/cardigan:
yarn: Malabrigo Worsted - super wash - Navy
Needles: Addi Lace 5.5
Pattern: Baby Sophisticate - FREE

If you like me to knit a baby sweater for your grandchild or baby, please feel free to contact me at claudiaesrosaathotmail.com.

I would love to do have a reason to make something :-) After my vacation i am going to post a few baby things on Etsy, i knitted in the evenings.

Have a Sunny Day

 Hello friends,
thank you for your visit... Today i just have a simple card to share and please forgive me the weired photos.
You may have noticed that i am no longer able to post on a regular basis, well the reason for that is that we decided to sell our house. I have been cleaning, scrubbing, reorganizing and also of course buying things to "decorate" your house for selling purposes.
Its a lot of work... we have a small home, 4 people and lived in the house for 11 years. Lots of stuff accumulated, even though i thought we got rid of a lot of bulk when the water damage happened in the basement last year.

Once we are ready for showings (hopefully in a few weeks) it definitely will be challenging with the craft area keeping it clean and tidy. The photo tent used to be in my master bedroom and now i have to build it up and down each time when i take photos - you can tell already in those two shots what a difference it made just because my lamps were not set up right. (i have to adjust the length of the legs again)

These are the supplies i used for the card:
Coloring: Mostly Prisma Color Pencils but some Copics were used as well - face

Sweet Pea Tilda

Hello ladies, thank you for swinging by.

Things are calming down a bit here. Lucas had a bad accident at school last Thursday morning, he slipped, bumped his head to a brick corner so badly that he shortly passed out. It was really scary. His scull has a bruise from the bottom neck to the top of his head and his ear was swollen 3x the normal size. He is feeling better and i did sent him back to school today.

Its also raining so the guy who should work on the outside of the house decided not to come. Duh!
So as you can see... :-) i used the time to craft a bit. This is what i just finished up.

I choose little Sweet Pea Tilda and used papers all from Magnolia. I even kept the little paper strips so i can tell you exactly what papers they are.
6x6 "With Love" Green Romance is the bottom sheet
6x6 "A Christmas Story" Striped Cloth
6x6 "Summer Memories" Lucky Clover is the third layer
Additional stamps: script, postmark stamp also by Magnolia
Die: Doohickey Magnolia
Stickles is Crystal - it has a nice green sheen to it

Pandora Mothers Day

Hi there, i would like to show you the little card for Mothers Day i made to sent to my mother. Yesterday i posted a bunch of cards to Europe and once again it was jar dropping how much a single card costs these days to ship to Europe! Those new prices are really killing me!

So my card is small and light weight, i even in cooperated my little Pandora charm (Mothers Day gift) to my card - this way i don't have to ship the box and ship it in a large envelope. voila.. task completed. I am happy with it.

Supplies:
Stamp: Magnolia - Once upon a time - Tilda with a curl
Sentiment: Magnolia "May your day be Special"
Papers: Magnolia - "Shoe Ornament" "something new" -
both patterns are available in 6x6 and 12x12
Dies: Magnolia DooHickey - Label 'Dream Tag", Go Create, and Memory Box
Embellishments: flowers: Hobby House, seam binding ribbon

Gift bag

Hello ladies thank you so much for your visit.
Debbie asked me if i had time to make for her a couple of cards to give her room mom's with the option of adding a Gift card.

Well...as you can see my first idea was not to make a card but a decorated paper bag. I got once a sweet decorated bag from Tammi and she included a gift card for me and i thought it was so cute. I would give this along with some chocolate.

For the image i went with one of the "neutral" Tilda's from the just recent Collection. The entire Collection is now available and ready to ship at Sir Stampalot.

Additional supplies used:
Sentiment: Lili of the Valley
Dies:Tim Holtz - Butterfly border, Sign (Alterations) Go Create
Papers: pink butterflies, blue/pink paper flamingo flowers, script once upon a time all by Magnolia,
Embellishments: blue Chandelier Garland by Magnolia, Stickles

A baby cardi with matching card

Hello dears, how are you today?

I would like to show you a little hand knitted vest i have made for an acquaintance. I am pretty sure she will be more than surprised when she is reads my name on the envelope lol.. she is expecting her first baby and i think it is such an amazing experience (if you are not constantly sick) i wanted to make her a little card and of course since i love to knit - i wanted to make a little baby sweater. They are made so quick, the one you see i was able to whip out in just 2 evenings. I even have some yarn left and if i find time i might make a matching hat. The size you see is size 3-6 months, with some room to grow into. I remember getting way too many gifts in size newborn and the babies grows so fast - i wanted her to be able to put the little one in this handmade gift a little longer than just a few weeks. Hopefully she likes it. Fingers crossed.

Oh yes, there is also a card i made to go with the sweater ... the colors of the sweater dictated the colors - i found them in the fall line (Walking in the Forrest) of Maja Design Design papers but i think it does no show too much. You can find all Maja Design papers over at Timbroscrapmania.

I also would like to submit this card to Timbroscrapmanias challenge "Baby's coming".

 Additional supplies:
Pregnant Tilda, flower corner stamp, font stamp - once upon a time
Die: Go Create, Lovely Fence (Magnolia)
Other: paper doily, Tim Holtz Film strip, lace, twine, seam binding ribbon, flowers: Hobby House
Sentiment: Stampin up

Baby vest:
yarn: Malabrigo Worsted (suuuper soft and washable) the perfect baby yarn
needles: Addi lace 5.5 mm
Pattern: Free - Pickles Plain Vest

chalk only

Hello,
Thank you so much for your visit. The other day when i colored this little sitting Tilda for my egg container, i first stamped the image off some Kraft card stock to see if the size would work for the container. Than later in the evening while i was cleaning up my craft table i started to scribble the image in with black and white chalk pens. It took no longer than 10 minutes. I was really surprised by the out come and emailed a quick picture to a couple of friends to see if they thought it was worth to make a card with it.

Since there was a lot of scribbles around the image i had to cut that off with the smallest possible oval Nestabilite, but i think it still works. Everything on this card was already previously cut for other cards and ended up not being used and tossed in a clear storage bin to use for later.

All i had to do was add some flowers, sew and sponge the card stock/design paper.

Here are the supplies i used:
Stamp: Pie Tilda, Make a wish sentiment, new york post stamp
Magnolia Design Paper: flowers and blue quilt
Dies: So lovely, Spellbinder banner, Tag, Spellbinder oval, Go Create, Wood embellishments are PrimaMarketing. i know Sir Stampalot has the kit i used.. i just could find the correct direct link. This is how it looked sort of.
