Maertha

Today i have some news for you...There will be soon a store in the US having Magnolia stamps for sale. I was asked by the owner of the store, if i could show step by step on how a scene card comes together. Of course i agreed, cause that's what i love to do. Plus, what a great way to show off my new Magnolia "Goblin" stamps. Tanja was commenting last week that she really loves the Goblins but she would rather see them in the forrest than, like i did, use her on the double pocket card. So i took her advice and made a scene card with Maertha sitting on a tree stump at night and all her friends come to visit.

All wonderful supplies as paper cs and stamps (except the ribbon i used) was generously provided by Magnolia and can be purchased at Magnolia's online store. Some stickles is on the moon and the dragonflies.

Stamps: Magnolia new Goblin 2008 (Maertha, tree stump, mushrooms, snails, moon, dragonflies) the tall tree is from a previous collection
Sentiment: Stampin up Level 1 Hostess benefits, grass by Art Impressions
Embellishments: Stampin up narrow poly twill old olive ribbon, Stickles
Tools: Word Window Punch, Glue Dots (fabulous stuff)
Coloring: Pebbles Shimmery Chalks (check them out they come in many colors), Stampin up re-inker bottles, Aquapainter, Prisma Color Pencils, Inkpads: Wild Wasabi, Old Olive, Artichoke

Some of you have asked me yesterday, why i did not post so much this week and if I am alright. I just wanted to let you know that we are okay now. Thank you for asking :-) We had a tough week with beeing sick. I do not have any family or support here in the US. So if my kids are sick and my husband is out of the country it is though and i do not have a lot of time for crafting. This card took believe it or not more than 2.5 hours to make. :-) am i slow or what??? hehehehe

Tiroler Tilda

I always loved this Tilda! Her name is Tiroler Tilda, as far as I remember was she released in 2007 for a big exhibition Magnolia had last year in Germany (on Friday i can show you a card made with Paris Tilda - Magnolia is at the end of the month in France). Since I am native from Baden Wuerttemberg (Ulm) thats right a the border to Bavaria I had to have her! :-) I colored her in with re-inkers to match Stampin Up's Ginger Blossom Designer Paper. Stickles is used on her wings. The Flowers are available at Magnolia's online shop! They are gorgeous - love that they come with the flower centers. For the sentiment I used a SU Sell-A-Bration Set that I cut apart. I love it! I have made many cards i was not able to add a sentiment cause there was not enough space. Now i have tonns of choices - these are perfect to stamp in the tiniest empty corner :-)

This card was made using this weeks fantastic Ismaki sketch:

Supplies used: SU CS: River Rock, Close Cocoa, Groovy Guava
Designer Paper: Ginger Blossom "Stampin Up!"
Embellishments: SU Grossgrain Ribbon, Stickles, Magnolia Flowers
Stamps: Magnolia, Stampin up
Coloring: Pebbles Chalks and Stampin up Re-Inker

DAD

I really love how this card turned out. I think I developed my special love to Charmer Edwin :-) This time I watercolored him with Sage Shadow and Pumpkin Pie re-inkers. The roses are colored with More Mustard. The background is made with the jewel tones shimmery chalks I used the lighter blue on the entire image and went on the left side with the darker chalks for more shadows. I could not resist... I had to give Edwin shimmery wings with stickles :-). My husband even likes this card and that made me really happy. I used Julie's sketch over at Poetic Artistry blog to finish this card.
CS: All Stampin up: Really Rust, Sage Shadow, Chocolate Chip, White, Very Vanilla
Designer Paper: Stampin up "Outlaw"
Embellishments: Brads Making Memories, Chocolate Chip wide satin ribbon Stampin up, Stickles
Tools: large oval Nestabilities
coloring: re-inkers, chalk

The background behind Tilda is carefully airbrushed with my copic airbush system in yellow.

Cute Card Thursday

We have started a brand new challenge blog called Cute Card Thursday and the theme is CUTE! The blog is open now and we will set our first challenge on Thursday morning. We will be giving some blog candy to one lucky person who joins in with the first challenge, so why not pop over and have a look here.

Thanks so much

I found yesterday a challenge were you could win a free stamp set the only problem was that time for me was running out. I was able to submit in time but you can tell it was already getting dark outside, i have many shadows on my pic. I hope you can still see the coloring.

The challenge was to use certainly celery, lavender lace and yoyo yellow or so saffron. I used all my nice swirly celery DP for my little fotobooklet i made a while back so i was struggeling a bit what to do. I just went than with the fast CB siss dot embossing and pepped the card a bit up with a lace punched border (Martha Stewart) and some bling.
Flower, Rhinestone, Punch is Michaels, Word Window punch from Stampin up, Nestabilities . (the best store were you can buy the Nestabilities... i have ordered already at 3 different stores and hers has the BEST service), Sentiment is So Sayings a retiered SU Level 1 set.

Thanks for looking i hope you like this one.

For You...

for this weeks Ismaki Challenge blog.
I must say the sketch was not too easy for me. I had some girls asking me how i use the Stampin up Inkpads for coloring. I do not feel like i do a good job in watercoloring but if you like you can click on this pic and you can see all the details after the card was finished. Tilda is colored with inkpads, sheep and bench are colored with markers.
I addes some stickles to the sheep and Tildas wings. Papers are all Stampin up and the flowers are from Magnolia. This card will be going to Diana from Scorpal - she sent me yesterday a surprise package filled with Scor-pal goodies. :-)
Since some of you asked me ... here are some more pics.
Here is Tilda almost colored. I try to color first sections that are not "connected" let dry and start with the next color. Before i open my stamp pads i push with my fingers the lid down so the lid will touch the pad - than when i open my pad i have these ink puddles i can than pick up the color with my aquapainter.
Here i colored her shirt in green so it will tie my DP in. Her face is not quite nice yet so i went one more time over it to smoothen it. You have to be carefully tho.. if the paper is too dry you will end up with ugly waterstains. On the finished card you can see way more shadows i added these like on the collar on her shirt and the buttons with pencils.

Happy Easter

This weeks challenge for you on the Magnolia Challenge blog is to create something with your Magnolia stamps for Spring. I can not that we will have Spring here in Michigan yesterday it snowed again :-( Anyhow.. even if you do not think you want to play along on this weeks challenge i would reccomend to look at the blog. The Design Team this time was very creative... we had girls making cards, sour cream container and Scrapbook pages. Love it!!!

Oh.. and if you are a Magnlia lover you should als not miss out on this tip: Leann, also a DT Member from the Magnolia Challenge blog has a fabulous Magnolia Blog candy. She is giving away a Magnolia cupcake stamp and some other cute things we can always use. Needless to say i want that stamp - lets see who is winning :-) i have baaaad luck in games. :-)

Back to my Magnolia Challenge card.... I used blue textured Bazzill CS as cardbase, Zig-Zag olive CS, also Bazzill CS, cut to size as a decorative layer. Next I layered my DP with white CS to get the color back in from the flowers on my card. Tilda is stamped onto white cs, colored with markers and sponged with Close To Cocoa ink.
Viel Spass beim surfen :-)

Magnolia Mobile

Fuer die Mittwochstempler noch ein kleines Mobile.
Sorry for the bad picture it was already dark in the house when i took these pictures and unfortunately my boys really liked all the sparkle - it had to be explored. :-) So the mobile survived probably 2 hours :-). I was hoping to take a better foto in the morning but i guess this will not work out.
The moon was cut out 2x with my Creative Memories circle cutting system. Once with a big one, and a second cut with a smaller circle. Summer sun CS was embossed than with Irricent Ice SU embossing powder. I adhered a silver string in between the two moons and sandwiched the string in between. The stars are simply punched out with the big and small SU star punch. Dazzeling Diamond Dust was added for sparkle. Tilda is sitting on both sides of the moon so if the mobile is moving it looks nice from both sides.
