I am sure you have seen already some cards on my DT mates blogs… the image I used for my first card is Tilda as Aries. Tilda with Spring Heart

Dena_heart_1

Hello there… totally forgot about this heart. When I was at Michaels I picked 2 of those scroll hearts up. One had the little more rustic vintage look and one was painted white.
This one I gave to my friend Dena. We did a little Valentines challenge with lace and hearts Smile

Dena_heart_2

To decorate I used
Spring Tilda, supplies from stash, Joy crafts vintage butterfly

some of you may have seen the sneak peeks ladies from Italy and the Magnolia DT posted to Facebook. Seams like the newest Zodiac Collection Pauline drew up once again is going to be very much loved. The images ARE adorable. I showed you Sattigarius, Lio, Aries, Gemini, Libra and Aquarius over on Facebook if you missed have a lookSmile
I am going to make the cards of those images this week and also let you know the minute I see it when they are for sale at Sir Stampalot. I CANT wait to see the full line and the dies! whoohooo…

Vintage hanging heart ~ room decoration

Hello,

today I would like to show you what was inside the altered cigar box I showed you the other day.

Tammi_heart_2I used
Rose Scent Tilda by Magnolia
scroll vintage heart found at Michaels which I embossed randomly with Frantage
inks: Memento and Versamark
Dies: Magnolia Doo Hickey vintage keys, Sprawling ferns and Memory Box
lots of Flowers, GessoTammi_heart_1

My friend Tammi gave me for Christmas a gift where she had added some Frantage onto Tilda, I really liked the look of that. So I tried to copy her – but honestly it didn’t work out for me. The Frantage blew all over the place and the flakes that did stick to my image, melted really big. It was a one time only try for me.

Vintage shadow box

Hello there… thank you for swinging by.

Today I would love to show you an other 3D project created with some recycled items and odds and ends I had left from previous projects and I couldn’t bear to throw out.

I have found that I always find use for those little things to use later on.

Love_1

Usually I try not to post more than 2 pictures but since there are so many details on this shadow box I show off a few more.

On this picture you can see quite well all the Frantage I used. Made it just so much quicker than lining all the squares with patterned paper. I first painted the mini shadow box, which I recycled from one of the Prima wood embellishments with Distress Crackle paint and than added Frantage over it.

I used some vintage hardware findings as hooks on the frame and looped a thick string through it so the frame can be hung or it just can stand on a shelf. You need a strong adhesive (Tacky!!) for that.

Love_3

Most of the Findings are “left overs” from Prima marketing / Recollections or Melissa Frances. There is even a really odd shaped felt branch I could not toss but used on the frame you can’t tell how funny it looked.

There is some stamping going on with the Magnolia love background stamp onto a Doo Hickey Doily cut out and adhered right to the frame which gave me more “surface” to adhere my Tim Holtz metal embellishment from his Idea-ology line and of course Tilda.

Love_2

The large vintage key was picked up at Michaels in the $1 bin. They always go fast. I think they would make awesome housewarming or wedding invites too.

other things used: Flowers by Prima, Distress ink,Heat tool,Versamark, Magnolia Doo Hickey banner, coloring Copic, Stickles in Star dust and Platinum, mounting pads, ivory pins, brads

Thank you Smile with Love

Easy & inexpensive kids Valentines

Hi there…

OMG… its time for me to post all the Valentines “stuff” I made. Time flies – kids sick, me sick, snowstorms where you have to entertain those goof balls and still so much stuff going on with the kitchen.

I cant hold it I must tell you guys what has been going on here!
We ordered our kitchen in early September after we knew the layout (we did change a entire outside wall and therefore a window), ripped the old kitchen out and found a big rotten hole in the floor, which had to be fixed of course before we were able to move on.

long story short, this Friday we opened our 4th replacement delivery of “Signature Omega” cabinets (just saying because they are high end cabinets and not hardware store purchase) and surprise the people there at Omega seam to have no quality control what so ever so we got AGAIN 5 out of 5 damaged or not stained correctly cabinets. WTH seriously?

From 25 cabinets doors on the bottom 23!!! have to be replaced because they are not done right. I am going nuts. Each new delivery takes 3-4 weeks to make and stain the cabinet and 2 weeks of shipping. Meanwhile we can’t tile the backsplash because we need the cabinets hung first.

You will not believe it.. I have enough cabinets to re-do an entire kitchen layout my new kitchen is. That’s how many extra cabinets I have now sitting in my family room, basement and garage. At first it sounded great to me.. now we are all just annoyed. Once we get a chance we will re do the laundry room with the cabinets and the rest I guess we try to sell. What else shall I do with all those cabinets?!

Well.. back to crafting.
During one of our school free snowstorm days I crafted with the kids their Valentines gifts for class mates. Since one of my sons is 10 now I was able to give him a bit more detailed work to do and with my youngest I just did pencils (love gifts that do not have all candy on it!) and we glued some hearts to them.

Here is a shot of the lot with one tag that’s a bit more fancy… more further down.

Valentine Paint_chip_1

Ok.. the fancy tag I gave to my girl friend Christina. I heat embossed the paint chip with Frantage and used Tilda with Spring heart sitting on a paper doily cut in half and a die cut from a Magnolia Doo Hickey. I used Simple Tag Doo Hickey (currently on sale)to cut a tag out and stamped “Be My Valentine” also by Magnolia on all of them.
Other dies used are by Joy! crafts Butterfly border and Vintage Butterfly

Valentine Paint_chip_2

Here you see “some” of the tags for the kids (we made 25). since I wanted Lucas to work with me on the tags I used Martha Stewart Monarch Butterfly punch instead of using the die and instead of using Frantage (can you imagine a 10 year old heat embossing lol) I had him use Liquid pearls. A few gems, ribbon, hemp and chocolate and the job is done.
Oh… I forgot.. the paint chips came from Sherwin Williams … they all came with this cute wavy border. So there was already some detail on them and they are not as long as the ones I saw at Home Depot. Over all this was really inexpensive and fun but it did take more time to make it for 25 kids and of course buying something at the store Smile

Valentine Paint_chip_3

additionally we used: Memento ink in black, crop a dile, small heart punch, Distress in in Vintage photo, Mini mounting tabs for Tilda, good glue and Stickles

Thanks girls

Hiding something ?

hello ladies,

do you sometimes also go a little overboard when you see something in your favorite craft store on sale or clearance?

Well I do… I don’t know how many of these little wooden boxes I picked up maybe a couple years ago at Michaels found in the $1 bin marked down to 50 cents.  Ever since I had to drag them around in my craft room pewh..

Back then I made a few boxes to give Christmas gifts away, this time I made one for Valentines. This time around I just painted the entire box with white Gesso and embossed with Frantage. So much easier and less mess than spritzing them with Tattered Angles Glitter spray. The black elastic band the box came with was replaced with a (NEW daaahhh of course ) white hair elastic I had in my vanity. The box turned out pretty cute and vintage. I did sent this box to Sweden including some yummy chocolates.
